Crostata vs. Galette

My last post was about crostatas, at work our pastry team makes something just like it, but call it a galette. Of course I wondered what the difference is so upon a quick search I learned it is akin to the difference between champagne and proseco, country of origin. Crostatas are Italian, and galettes are French. So now we know.
