Recipe Testing


I’m considering changing the name of my blog to recipe testing, or maybe just I need more sleep?

Persimmons, lovely, should have taken the photo before taking the tops off, but hey, didn’t you read the above?

The dough seemed a little dry so I added a little more buttermilk than the recipe called for, then argh, too much…so it was a little loose, but salvageable, I thought. What I ended up with is more like a soft cookie, but too bready for a cookie and based on the shape you’d think hokey puck, right? Nope, soft. So there you go…testing a recipe from the internets is a good idea, I’m very glad these are just for our household, because while certainly edible, not special enough to share.
